MY BACKGROUND

Built on real-world business experience

Kilby Consultancy was built from years of hands-on experience working inside small and growing businesses.

Alongside my Business Management with Finance degree, much of my career has been spent supporting SMEs with the practical work that keeps everything running smoothly — finance administration, systems, compliance, operations and general business organisation.

Before launching Kilby Consultancy, I spent several years helping run Drift Away, a canal boat hire business, where I was involved in everything from finance and bookings to operations, marketing and boat management. Like most small businesses, it required wearing multiple hats and solving problems quickly to keep the business running efficiently.

Over the years I have also worked closely with a number of other businesses, including supporting M.A. Packaging Engineers with finance, systems and operational support. These experiences gave me a clear understanding of the challenges business owners face day-to-day — from managing cashflow and paperwork to putting systems in place that allow the business to grow without everything becoming overwhelming.

Kilby Consultancy exists to provide reliable, practical support behind the scenes, helping business owners stay organised, compliant and financially in control.

 

So instead of spending evenings buried in admin, they can focus on what they do best — running and growing their business.
